UNIFORM GUIDELINES

At Calvary Baptist Academy we believe in a uniform standard of dress in order to promote inclusivity and discipline. With our uniform guidelines we strive to espouse modesty, safety, appropriateness, and good taste. This dress code is defined below to promote consistency and allow enforceability. Our choice of colors promote school identity and foster school spirit and camaraderie.

Girls Uniform Guidelines

The uniform consists of khaki, navy, gray, or black pants, skirts, jumpers, or shorts with a solid color polo. A uniform polo shirt must be worn. Students may wear a jacket or a hoodie outside, as needed. Jackets, sweaters or hoodies that have a hood may not be worn in the classroom but students may wear these outside, as needed. Hats of any kind are not permitted during the school day. If we’re going to keep jumpers as part of the uniform then they need to actually be uniform. Every student that went the jumper route last year wore a different style.

  • Skirts and Jumpers should be khaki, gray, navy, or black skirt from or similar to the Solid Box Pleat (below the knee) Uniform Skirt, the Solid A-Line Uniform Skirt, (below the knee) or Jumper (below the knee) sold by Land’s End may also be worn. Skirts should come to the top of the knee when sitting and standing.
  • Pants and Shorts should be khaki, gray, navy, or black. Pants should not be overly tight, low rise, have extra zippers, or overly embellished. Shorts should come to the top of the knee. Shirts do not have to be tucked in.
  • Polos can be solid red, blue, black, gray, or white.
  • Sweaters and Cardigans must be red, blue, white, black, or gray in order to be worn inside for students to stay warm. No hoods are to be on the sweaters or cardigans.
  • Shoes can be athletic or dress style. P.E. uniforms consist of athletic shoes and socks, shorts or nylon athletic style pants, and a Calvary Baptist Academy t-shirt. Students are provided one each year, and shirts from any year may be worn. Shorts should be knee-length.
  • Casual Dress Days are announced by the teacher or principal. On casual dress days girls may wear jeans (no low rise and no jeggings) or bermuda-length shorts. T-shirts with appropriate designs/logos/sayings are allowed. Items like leggings, sleeveless shirts, athletic shorts, backless sandals (i.e. flip-flops) should not be worn.
  • Girls' Personal Appearance should seek modesty. (I Timothy 2:9) In elementary school girls should not wear makeup. Girls in junior high or high school may wear makeup that is subtle. Tasteful jewelry may be worn. Earrings may only be worn in the ear lobe, and no more than two earrings per ear. Hair should be neat and clean with no unnatural colors or styles. Anything considered “faddish” or counter-cultural is not acceptable.
